UNIVERSITY CLINIC FOR NEUROSURGERY

Glioblastoma

Glioblastomas are among the most aggressive tumors of the brain and usually develop directly from healthy cells but can also arise secondarily from benign precancerous lesions (see Gliomas).

Surgical removal of the visible portion of the tumor should usually be attempted with maximum safety, as the prognosis correlates primarily with the remaining tumor volume.

Fluorescence-assisted resection procedures integrating functional information into intraoperative navigation and intraoperative electrophysiological monitoring are only some of the methods mentioned to achieve the best possible and safest result.

Please feel free to contact our clinic for consultation.
